Woubi Cheri — The first film to give African gay men the opportunity to describe their lives in their own words. African leaders like Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe, Namibia's Sam Nujoma and the South African Pan Africanist Congress' Stanley Mogoba insist that homosexually is "un-African". They are in for a surprise. Cahokia: America's Lost Metropolis — Europeans "discovered" America and brought it "civilisation" — so goes the racist myth. This myth is challenged by the existence of Cahokia, a city bigger than the medieval cities of London and Rome that once rivalled the great centres of the Aztecs. Under the modern US city of St Louis lie the remains of this metropolis, believed to have been built around 1050. SBS, Saturday, April 1, 7.30pm.

Christina's Birthday — A short film about friendship, love and the unique beauty and romance of Broome. It also poses issues of race, class and belonging. SBS, Tuesday, April 4, 8pm.
