Poem: A Resourceful Minister

A Resourceful Minister

I am a sharecropper,
harvesting riches
that others create.
Divvying spoils.
filling pockets,
bodyswerving taxes ...
I am happy as a pig
in shit.
My snout so
deep in the trough
I may choke on
my own greed ...
But when all is said
and done — and you
certainly have been —
a man must eat
and in his
family trust.
