Why
WHO: Anyone who is keen to be an active contributor to the Rising Tide movement. If you came to the blockade and you’re keen to get more involved, or even if you saw it from afar and were inspired – this retreat is for anyone who wants to meaningfully contribute to Rising Tide in 2024, no matter your level of engagement at this point. If you can’t make it for the full weekend, come for a day.

WHERE: On beautiful Wurundjeri Country, @ Moora Moora cooperative community near Healesville in the Yarra Ranges – about 1 hour 30 min from Melbourne. Train to Lilydale, bus to Healseville. We can organise pickup from Healesville.
Dorm Bed or Camping. Bring your own bedding.
What will happen: We are still working on the program, but it will include workshops and discussions on:
- Rising Tide strategy, theory of change and guiding principles
- Key change frameworks e.g. Story Based Strategy and Momentum Organising
- Skills, such as action planning, media, facilitation, effective conversations
- Oppression and privilege training (so we can break down barriers in our movement)
- A related skill or idea you’d like to share?
