Why

On 28 August, tax office whistleblower Richard Boyle will be sentenced for speaking the truth – he hopes to avoid a conviction. This will be his final court appearance and we intend to show him our support.

For scheduling and location updates check the Facebook event.

Speakers include

  • Rex Patrick – former senator
  • Kieran Pender – human rights lawyer
  • Jodie Sard – Amnesty International
  • more TBC

This will be Richard's final court appearance. Together, we can protest the injustice of his prosecution AND show Richard our support and gratitude for his courage.

Bring your signs, banners, and voices to show Richard he’s not alone – and to demand an end to the war on whistleblowers.

Richard will be sentenced in the District Court of South Australia across the road at 9:30am. The hearing will likely be brief, and we will remain outside to greet him once it’s finished. The public will also be permitted in the courtroom.

Richard exposed unethical debt recovery tactics inside the Australian Tax Office, protecting small businesses and vulnerable Australians. Despite being vindicated by independent inquiries, he has faced years of criminal prosecution and the threat of jail. Earlier this year, Richard reached a plea deal to avoid prison time and to end this ordeal.
