Former Senator for Western Australia Jo Vallentine took a brave stand against Woodside’s North West Shelf gas extension last year — and now she needs your support. Jo was ARRESTED by WA Police for protesting against the state government’s approval for the toxic project, which is the centrepiece of Woodside’s Burrup Hub megafacility. Jo and other protesters refused to leave the headquarters of the government’s offices at Dumas House, across the road from Parliament. Now, she faces the Perth Magistrates Court charged with trespass.
But when will the WA Labor government, the federal Labor government and Woodside ever be held to account for the climate carnage they are causing? We know that 6 billion tonnes of emissions from the Burrup Hub will cause climate refugees to flee their homes and people to go hungry. For decades, Jo Vallentine has been fighting for the climate, the environment and for peace. Let’s show her our support, and show the state and federal governments that we REJECT their climate-cooking approvals for Woodside’s Burrup Hub.
