Why

The Sydney Anti-Aukus Coalition (SAAC) with the support of a growing number of anti-war, peace, and environmental groups will protest the QUAD summit to be held in Sydney during 23-24 May.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will host US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

US President Joe Biden’s national security adviser said that the US administration sees the Quad as a “foundation upon which to build substantial American policy in the Indo-Pacific region”.

Australia’s government and other Quad partners justify expanding military expenditure by saying they want to “protect” Taiwan: an attempt to show the US that Quad members are willing to assist in the containment of China and to whip up racist hysteria around Chinese influence in the region.

More US bases and military rotations in the region will further bolster Australia’s economic interests in the region.

The Quad is an alliance to prepare for war.

Join the protest to say NO to AUKUS and the Quad, NO to war on China, NO nuclear subs and demand the Albanese government fund renewable energy, housing and health.
