Why

On September 10th Community sector workers in the ASU have called their second Strike for Gaza taking unprotected industrial action. They have called on other workers to join them! If you are not in a position to take unprotected industrial action, you can still join them at the State Library on September 10th at 1PM. Come down on your lunch break or take the day off work. Lets get as many workers in the city taking rank and file action together!

The strike / walk out has been endorsed by Free Palestine Melbourne and the Free Palestine Coalition Naarm. Other strike endorsees include: ASU4Palestine, MEAA4Palestine, NTEU4Palestine, CPSU4Palestine, Teachers and School Staff4Palestine, Monash NTEU4Palestine and the Anarcho Syndicalist Federation (ASF).

Whilst ASU VIc Tas isn’t endorsing the walk out/ strike they have endorsed the rally and encouraged their members who are planning to attend or participate to seek the support of their employer, take leave or use their lunch break to attend. NTEU Victorian Division and a number of branches are backing the rally. We hope other unions will come on board soon too to support the rally component of the day!
