Campaign planning & activities

When

6:30pm to 8:30pm Friday 05 April

Where

Black Spark
126A Gladstone Avenue, Northcote.
Northcote VIC 3070
Australia

Why

We will hear about the inspiring stories of resistance of the Mapuche people, indigenous to Southern Chile and Argentina, and how it compares to what is happening in Victoria.

The discussion will begin with presentations from Marisol, a Mapuche member of the Latin American Solidarity Network (LASNET), and Chris, member of Forest Conservation Victoria. We will then have a discussion about how we can do international solidarity, and how this effects our campaigning on forests, climate and beyond. The conversation will be facilitated by Anisa from the Degrowth Network Australia.

The event is free, with snacks provided. It is a wheelchair accessible event with an accessible toilet. If you want to give a donation on the night it will go towards to paying the transport costs for the lawyers who are representing Mapuche political prisoners pro bono.
