Why

Join the Free Palestine contingent to May Day 2024!

May 1 is celebrated across the world as a day of workers' protest and international solidarity.

Here on Gadigal land, the MUA and CFMEU will be leading a major stop work rally, with other unionists joining them in Belmore Park near Central Station at 11am for a march through the city. Alongside raising demands for workers' rights, speakers will express solidarity with Palestine.

The Free Palestine movement will be on the streets as well, showing solidarity with workers across the world and calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza.

There is growing support in the union movement for Palestine and a recent protest against the Israeli ZIM shipping line at Port Botany saw MUA officials arrested, along with many other community members.

We will march to demand the Albanese government ends its complicity with genocide and puts sanctions on Israel. We are also demanding charges on Palestine protestors are dropped, an end to the draconian anti-protest laws which are shackling our movement and the anti-strike laws stopping solidarity action by workers.

We want to build deeper solidarity with the union movement, towards the kind of collective workers action that can force an end to Australia's support for Israel.

All out for Palestine on May Day!
