Why

The Assange Campaign is holding a conference in Brisbane. Like the Belmarsh Tribunal, recently held in Sydney, the seminar aims to reaquaint Queenslanders with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and encourage them to get involved in the campaign to free him.

Speakers are David McBride (Afghan War whistleblower), Greg Barns (assistant to the Assange legal team), Professor A J Brown (Centre for Governance and Public Policy,Griffith Uni), Kellie Tranter (writer and lawyer), Terry O'Gorman (Qld Council for Civil Liberties), Stella Assange (wife of Julian Assange) and John Shipton (father of Julian Assange).
