In brief: BRITAIN — Brawl sparked by racist abuse

More than 100 people were involved in a street battle in Nuneaton on October 15, after racist thugs attacked people returning from evening prayers to a bail hostel. A witness told IC Coventry that "five or six lads were out there giving racist abuse and knocking caps off. One man was walking home with his son and one of these thugs took a kick at his lad". The man whose son was attacked allegedly returned shortly afterwards, to find people armed with pool cues and iron bars. The resulting fight involved many residents of the hostel, and around 40 opponents. Pepper spray was used on both sides. For more anti-racist news, visit <http://www.irr.org.uk>.
