Video: Refugee rights — which way forward?

The federal government is punching down more on those already denied resources and rights. Among them are refugees who have not had their rights to asylum recognised.

The COVID-19 crisis has made resistance more difficult, but the mobilisations inside and outside the detention hotel at Kangaroo Point has been a high point in the struggle.

The following is a recording of a Politics in the Pub FNQ public meeting held on November 19.

Featured speakers were: refugee Amin Afravi, medical whistleblowers Caroline de Costa and Jacinta O'Leary, and Socialist Alliance activist and Rural Australians for Refugees secretary Jonathan Strauss.
