Green Left Show #4: 2050 is too late — the climate targets we need

February 21, 2021
Issue

The Scott Morrison government (along with Labor) is facing some pressure on climate policy due to the election of the Joe Biden government alongside shifting opinion in support of climate action. But too much mainstream commentary is focused on "net zero by 2050", in part as a result of Independent MP Zali Steggall's climate bill.

But 2050 is too late. We need climate action now.

This episode of the Green Left Show focuses on the climate targets we need featuring David Spratt (Research Director at the Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration and author of Climate Code Red), Pip Hinman (editor of Green Left) and Kamala Emanuel (one of the initial drafters of the Socialist Alliance climate charter).
