With Robert Austin (Ph.D, History & Latin American Studies, La Trobe)
2019 has been an explosive year in Latin America. In Chile, a tumultuous several-million-strong uprising unseen since the Pinochet dictatorship. In Ecuador, the largest and most violent uprising in a decade; and Venezuela has experienced a fresh round of US intervention and controversial government responses.
A public meeting featuring Venezuelan revolutionary Pacha Guzman, a leading activist with the Ezequiel Zamora Campesino Front (Frente Nacional Campesino Ezequiel Zamora FNCEZ), an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-patriarchal and deeply Chavista organisation which is part of the Bolivar and Zamora Revolutionary Current (Corriente Revolucionaria Bolivar y Zamora, CRBZ).
As part of a visiting national tour throughout March, the meeting will feature Pacha to discuss the importance of grassroots organisations and movements while showing solidarity with Venezuela.
