Forests

Bob Brown Foundation will be scaling up our campaign for nationwide actions. If native forest logging continues across Australia we will need to keep up our calls for forest protection.

First Nations people have been brutally pushed off their land to make way for logging trucks, and escorted into their sacred men’s forest by police. This is a tentative date for next Gumbaynggirr people's legal action against Forestry in Newry State Forest, a three day hearing starting November 14th.

Join us for our forest vigil  Ending logging will get us to our lame emission target immediately, save taxpayer money, increases biodiversity, saves koalas and other endangered species, brings water security and draws down carbon.

NSW is still logging native forests – even though these forests draw down enough carbon to reach net zero emissions at the speed required.

NSW Forestry Corporation has closed our Ourimbah Native Forest to the public as logging proceeds.
Tea for Trees was formed, in response to the logging, by four local women. We may not be able to enter our Forest without being prosecuted under the law, but we can protest what is happening by being quiet witnesses in spirit for the Forest and all the wildlife whose home it is.

Logging has been paused in Newry State Forest on the Mid North Coast, after Gumbaynggirr people launched legal action against Forestry. Their case will be heard on Friday 25 August.

Let’s show them our support.  Join us at outside the Land and Environment Court at 225 Macquarie Street at 11.30am.
