SYDNEY — Transport Workers Union members stopped traffic in the CBD on July 28 as they dragged wooden pallets up George Street to protest against the federal government's planned anti-worker and anti-union laws (pictured). "Ultimately it will be impossible for them to operate under the changes, so dragging pallets with ropes is just a sign of things to come", TWU NSW secretary Tony Sheldon said. The union is organising a national convoy to Canberra on August 17, with trucks and couriers converging on Northbourne Avenue, leading up to Parliament House, at noon. Photo courtesy of the TWU.
