Greens MLC Sylvia Hale and feminist doctor Kamala Emanuel were among speakers at a February 6 action in Sydney to protest against politicians denying women their right to choose to use the abortion drug RU486. On February 9, the Senate passed a private members' bill to remove the health minister's control over RU486 and the House of Representatives will now vote on the bill. An emergency action calling on lower house politicians to vote for the bill is being held in Melbourne on February 14, at 12.30pm on Parliament House steps.
