10 Years on from the events of 9/11, and the perpetuated attitudes of Islamophobia promoted by various governments around the world has not only reached a fever pitch, but being used as a divisive tool to create racial tension. But what have learned since the collapsing of the Twin Towers 10 years ago? We're constantly faced with a media barrage about national security, justifications for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the threat of another supposed "terrorist attack", but is the safety of Australians actually at risk? Or is it just mere whipped up racism from consecutive governments and their media mouthpieces?
At this Resistance public meeting, we will be discussing the origins of terrorism, it's relevance to the times we live in now and how we view terrorism and it's portrayal in the media and in society in general.
We welcome all to come along and join in for what will be a fruitful discussion!
