Vince Jones blows Greenpeace's trumpet

Popular Australian jazz trumpeter Vince Jones' latest album, Future Girl, is to be launched with several shows at Sydney's Harbourside Brasserie. The album and shows feature Vince's commitment to the environment and his support for the international environmental organisation Greenpeace.

Future Girl is Jones' eighth album. The song "The Nature of Power" has a strong pro-environment sentiment, while at live performances he dedicates "Don't Jettison Everything" to the activists of Greenpeace.

After a career of live and recorded performance spanning 20 years, Jones has gained a reputation for his strong musical ethics and an unwillingness to bow to corporate dictates.

Vince promises that his live performances will not disappoint in comparison to his recorded output. For his three Sydney gigs, he has assembled some of Australia's best jazz musicians. They are Ray Pereira on percussion, Lloyd Swanton on bass, Barney McCall on piano, Peter Jones on drums and, of course, the dapper Vince Jones on trumpet and vocals.

You can catch Vince at the Harbourside Brasserie, Millers Point, on Friday, November 13, Saturday, November 14, (with a second show at midnight) and Sunday, November 15.
