On November 24, Victorians will go to the polls. The left are uniting as the Victorian Socialists to get Yarra councillor Stephen Jolly elected to the upper house for the Northern Metropolitan Region.

Stephen Jolly and the Victorian Socialists team have been activists in Melbourne for decades, fighting for better working conditions, siding with the poor, fighting racism and resisting bad development to win a better city for all.

While Stephen Jolly will head the campaign, the ticket will also include Socialist Alliance Moreland councillor Sue Bolton and Socialist Alternative member Coleen Bolger.

Stephen Jolly has been a socialist campaigner in Melbourne for more than 25 years. He has been elected to the Yarra Council in each of the last four contests because of his tireless campaigning for public housing tenants and on countless local issues.

Sue Bolton, a two-term councillor in Moreland, stands up for affordable housing, the rights of homeless people and more open space and parkland for local residents, and is campaigning for a clan-based treaty.

Colleen Bolger is an asbestos victims lawyer and has been an activist for nearly two decades, fighting for public education, for refugee and migrant rights and against corporate greed.

Find out more about our project and how you can get involved in the lead up to the November elections. Hear from the candidates and local community residents about the importance of putting a socialist into parliament.

The campaign launch will also see the launch of our policy manifesto.
