"No uranium mining," "No nuclear industry," and "No nuclear waste dump," were the themes of the annual Rally for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament, held in Brisbane on Palm Sunday, April 17.

The rally and march attracted about 200 people.

Speakers included Dr Sue Wareham, from the Medical Association for Prevention of War; Andrew Dettmar, from the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union; Della Rae Morrison, convenor of Western Australian Nuclear Free Alliance and spokesperson for the Australian Nuclear Free Alliance; Paul McKinnon, from the Refugee Action Collective; and Kathryn Zahran, from Justice for Palestine.

The rally followed a Nuclear-Free and Peaceful Queensland Workshop Day held on April 16 at the Communications Electrical Plumbing Union offices, organised by the Queensland Nuclear Free Alliance.
