The Green Chain is a New Zealand film about sawmill worker Joe Harawira and his long battle to expose the impact that workplace toxins had on his community.

After being afflicted by health issues in the 1980, Harawira notice coworkers getting sick. In 1988 Joe helped found SWAP (Sawmill Workers Against Poison) and began investigation the effects of exposure to dioxins and efforts to clean up the site. Dioxin is the chemical which still contaminates the 100 and 102 McBride St Fawker sites.
