Target Hazelwood — Resistance in action against coal

Issue

Resistance activists were among the 500 people that took protest action for renewable energy on September 12 and 13 at the Hazelwood power station in Victoria's Latrobe Valley. They demanded the Victorian government Switch-off Hazelwood.

Protesters served Hazelwood — Australia's dirtiest coal-fired power station — with a Community Decommission Order.

The civil disobedience action was part of the nationwide campaign for emergency action to halt climate change. Resistance supports a just transition away from burning coal that creates clean jobs based on renewable energy.
