A banner to announce the upcoming Peace Convergence in Rockhampton from July 10-12 was unfurled on the Kangaroo Point cliffs in Brisbane on June 25.

Up to 23,000 US and Australian troops will be practising bombing, landing and raiding at Shoalwater Bay in Central Queensland, just north of Rockhampton, and in the Northern Territory and Western Australia, as part of the Australia-US Joint Military Exercises Operation Talisman Sabre from July 6-26 this year.

The Peace Convergence is calling for peace action to take place throughout Queensland and around Australia. For more information, to book for camping or transport or to get involved, phone 0411 118 737, email nuclearfreequeensland@yahoo.com.au>, or visit www.peaceconvergence.com.
