'Stop the war on women'

Issue

One hundred and fifty people, including members of the Tamil and Turkish communities, attended an International Women's Day rally against war on March 8. The event was initiated by the Anatolian Cultural Centre.

Speakers demanded an end to the wars on women — especially in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Tamil areas of Sri Lanka and in Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.

Kurdish musicians joined the march through the streets of Melbourne.
