This Australia Day – otherwise known as Survival Day - Australian Indigenous culture and music will be celebrated at the annual Share the Spirit Festival. Presented by Songlines Aboriginal Music Corporation and the City of Melbourne, Share the Spirit will showcase some Victoria's finest Indigenous talent as well as interstate guests all of whom will entertain in ......the true spirit of reconciliation.
Taking place every year on Australia Day Share the Spirit has been created by Aboriginal people for all Australians to come together and celebrate the country’s Indigenous culture through music, performance workshops, information stalls, and most importantly through personal exchanges between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
Featuring some of Australia’s top indigenous talent the day offers nonstop music as well as a f the non-stop music from artists such as Dave Arden, Lady Lash, Zennith (QLD) and OKA (QLD), Maza Sisters, Wurunjeri Dancers, Songlines Youth Choir, Songlines Hip Hop Dance Group, Brolga Boys, Jake and the Cowboys (WA) with MC Sherilee Hood.
Share the Spirit will also host community market stalls where Indigenous artists and designers from all over Victoria will be selling locally made crafts and gifts. There will also be a dedicated kids area filled with Indigenous crafts, face painting, circus activities and the popular Hip Hop dance workshops.
