At the Perth Activist Centre. 15/5 Aberdeen St, Perth

For millennia, women have had to contend with the ideology that our second class status is a result of our biology.

But contrary to theories of biological determinism, women were not always oppressed.

How does Marxism understand the origins of women’s oppression and how does this inform the struggle for our liberation?

At a practical level, what are some of the struggles we have participated in and where have we stood in relation to some of the historical and contemporary debates about strategy and forms of organising.

Speakers: Janet Parker and Annolies Truman, Socialist Alliance members.
