Save those posters!

Some supporters of Green Left Weekly have established a national archive of Australian and international political posters. This collection now numbers several thousand, spanning nearly four decades.

Steve O'Brien from Newcastle is organising and digitalising the collection and it will be available at its own web site later this year. The archive will be easily accessible for historical research and graphic inspiration for future posters.

Once it's organised, the collection can also be used for displays and exhibitions on particular themes.

If GLW readers have posters they can donate to the collection, please drop them off at any Resistance Centre (addresses page 2). Poster donations can also be mailed to: Poster archive, PO Box 394, Broadway, NSW, Australia 2007.

If you have special items that you want to retain, we can digitalise them for the web collection, and then return the originals to you. Phone (02) 9690 1230 to arrange this.

Please keep this project in mind when you are organising or attending public meetings, pickets, demonstrations and other actions in the future. Save at least one poster and send it to us.

This will help ensure that today's struggles can be remembered and told in the future.
