Save Tasmania's forests!

HUON VALLEY — About 250 people on November 29 attended a forest picnic in the Tahune Reserve, in Tasmania's south-western forest, organised by the Wilderness Society as part of the campaign to stop logging in old-growth forest. Speakers included Rodney Dillon from the South-East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation, sawmiller Kim Booth and Greens MP Peg Putt. Participants walked along Riveaux Road to view the destruction of areas Forestry Tasmania had called "regrowth" when logging was begun there in 1994.
