ROCKHAMPTON — The Reclaim the Night committee and Green Left Weekly held a successful joint feminist film afternoon on October 1, part of a series of events organised in the lead-up to this year's Reclaim the Night march.

Twenty people watched Hopes Soaring High, a film by Katherine Koener of a women's collective in a small rural Indian village which united to overcome the poverty and oppression brought on by a local money trader, and Anne O'Casey's Last Of Line Defence, about Heather Osland, sentenced to 15 years' jail for murdering her husband after years of abuse and beatings.
