The first issue of At Ease, a new alternative journal for men and women in the Australian military forces, appears this week. It is available from PO Box 167 North Carlton Vic 3054. The publishers aim to produce an eight-page magazine every two months to provide service people with research, reliable information and news. $1 to civilians, free to service personnel.

The Spanish Civil War in Euzkadi and Catalonia, by Miguel Romero, is a Marxist analysis of currents among the republican forces during the Spanish civil war. He argues that the defeat of revolutionaries in the republican camp prepared the way for Franco's victory. 46pp. $6.00. Rights and Freedoms in Australia is published by editors Jude Wallace and Tony Pagone in conjunction with the Victorian Council of Civil Liberties. It provides advice and information on topics including privacy, discrimination, social security, dealing with government, police powers, prisoners' rights, insurance and human rights. 225 pp, $22.95.
