By Bill Mason

BRISBANE — The Brisbane Resistance Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary with a lively night on August 10. Some 100 people packed in to hear Ant McKenna, Isis, and Chris Anderson and Connie Andrews raise the roof with their music.

MC Karen Fletcher told the audience, "The Resistance Centre has been a special organising focus for the Brisbane left and will be a launching pad for the struggle to build a socialist alternative in the coming 10 years".

Democratic Socialist Party secretary Jim McIlroy, Resistance high school activist Sinead Hogan and Resistance campus organiser Kathy Newnham spoke about the history of DSP and Resistance campaigns in Brisbane, and the role of the Resistance Centre.

Newly arrived DSP Brisbane organiser Graham Matthews reports that the night raised $1000 for the Green Left Weekly Fund Appeal.
