Reclaim the Night - Adelaide 2015

Friday, November 13, 2015 - 19:00

6:30pm for a 7pm start
Victoria Square / Tarndanyangga

Reclaim the Night aims to address the root cause of violence towards women by calling for an end to gender inequality, while also demanding justice, support and funding for survivors.

This year we will rally at Tarndanyangga (Victoria Square). We will begin the march at 7pm - walking together down King William and Hindley St, accompanied by Rhythms of Resistance drummers. Post march celebrations will be held at West Bar (Uni SA) from 7:30-9pm. We'll be celebrating with food, drinks and live sets from The Villenettes and DJ Jenna (a.k.a. KimKardashianEating, resident Nightcall DJ).

In honour of the history of the event and its fundamental aim of reclaiming women's right to safely walk the streets at night, the Reclaim the Night Collective asks that only women and others who experience oppression due to being perceived as women participate in the march. Men and others who do not experience such oppression are encouraged to support this event by cheering the march from the footpath.
