Why

While over 60 of the refugees brought to Australia under Medevac legislation have now been released into the community, the fight is not over. 11 men remain locked up in the Park Hotel with over 100 still in detention at Kangaroo Point and across Australia.

The incredible victories we have seen for the refugee community over the past few months have demonstrated the power of mobilising in great numbers against racist policies, and revealed the limits of the Australian government’s arbitrary and inhumane detention regime.

Join the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism as we continue to put the pressure on politicians, security agencies, NGOs and all those responsible for the torture and abuse of innocent people seeking refuge in so-called Australia.

We demand that:
• Every single refugee in detention is freed immediately
• All detention centres are permanently closed with community processing reinstated for all asylum seekers
• All refugees are provided full citizenship rights
• The government gives refugees the intensive support they require after eight years of detention

Let’s show the Australian government that we won’t stop fighting until ALL REFUGEES IN MANDATORY DETENTION ARE FREED!

This rally takes place on stolen Aboriginal land. Sovereignty was never ceded, CARF stands in solidarity in the fight against indigenous oppression
