Rainbow Warrior visits Hobart

By Rohan Gaiswinkler

HOBART — The Rainbow Warrior visited Hobart from March 11. The launch of the Greenpeace "Cities and Coasts Campaign" took place on board on March 12.

The campaign targets Australia's cities and coastline, areas where much of the worst environmental damage and pollution in this country are occurring. Greenpeace is highlighting the technologies which already exist and which could be implemented to replace current environmentally damaging practices.

Greenpeace also staged an action at Pasminco EZ zinc refinery to protest against the dumping of ore waste at sea. The Rainbow Warrior was open to the public for two days before departing Hobart for Wollongong.
