Sunday Concert: 1995 Irish Music Festival — Mairie ni Chathasaigh plays the Irish harp and is one of Ireland's finest exponents of traditional dance music. She and guitarist Chris Newman unite their instruments in a mix of dance music, swing, jazz and bluegrass. Brendan Power is a New Zealand Celt who has pioneered "new Irish harmonica music". Donal Lunny plays the bazouki, guitar and dulcimers, and has been central to the renaissance of contemporary Irish music. He helped found the influential bands Planxty and Moving Hearts. Altan's music is based in the Donegal tradition, which evolved from people isolated from political borders and from a history of emigration to Scotland. Recorded live in April at the Melbourne Concert Hall. ABC Radio National, Sunday, June 4, 4.05pm.

The Miners' Hospital — The community of Coledale staffed the picket lines to save their hospital. The hospital has a special place in the community's history — it was established by workers in one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, coal mining. From 1917 they dug into their own pay packets to establish and maintain the hospital. This radio special documents the history of the hospital and the workers' lives. ABC Radio National, Sunday, June 4, 8.30pm.
