New Music Australia — The 1994 Composing Women's Festival — A direct broadcast from the event will look at the concerts and play some of the music. Since the first festival in 1992, there has been a ground swell of activity by Australian composers who happen to be women. ABC Classic FM, Wednesday, June 29, 9.30pm.

That's History — The third program in a series exploring life in Australia in the 1950s. This program looks at the impact of the official policy of assimilation for Aborigines and some of the white activist groups which formed to support Aboriginal rights during the '50s. ABC Radio National, Friday, July 1, 7.10pm.

The Goons — The 1000 Pound Penny — Starring Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe in the continuing adventures of Neddie Seagoon. ABC Radio National, Saturday, July 2, 12pm.

Radio Eye — The Lost World of a Vegemite Childhood — The 1950s are back in style! Traditional family values, stylish commodities (those fabulous frocks and pink mixmasters) nationalism, nationwide prosperity. This program tells the stories of some of the people who didn't live out the '50s dream: migrants, gays and lesbians, Aborigines and lefties. ABC Radio National, Sunday, July 3, 8.30pm.

Behind the Violence — Women and the Media — How do the media influence our understanding of the roles of men and women? This program examines power structures in the media and looks at ways people are represented in news, current affairs and advertising. What relation do media images have to violence against women? 2SER-FM, Monday, July 4, 8pm.

Drive — with Ramona Koval. Summarises the important events of the day. Drive provides a stylish and stimulating flow of national and international news, current affairs, analysis and commentary; it updates, provokes and entertains a nationwide audience — or so the blurb goes. ABC Radio National, 4-6pm every weekday.
