An Explorer's tale: The Great Journey of Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca — Following Columbus' landing in America in 1492, the Spaniards set out to acquire vast tracts of Central and South America. For the most part this was done with relentless cruelty and greed. One exception was Palfilio de Narvaez in 1527. This explorer's journey is described in the journal of Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca.
