Ear to the Ground — The Flinders Ranges: Yura Muda — This new feature radio series on South Australian history and heritage explores how a location becomes a place through the sounds and stories that live in peoples' memories. These programs are a rich combination of oral and aural history, full of sounds of history. Produced by Deborah Welch. This first program looks at the tribal life of the Adnyamathanha people of the Northern Flinders Ranges, where the natural world is the link between people, Yuras, and the dreaming, Muda. The second of the series, The Flinders Ranges: Yura and Udnyu, looks at how the Adnyamathanha have survived the loss of their land. With Buck McKenzie, Pauline and Vince Couthard. 5UV 531-AM, Wednesday, June 1 and 8, 8pm.

Since the '60s, an increasing number and variety of Australians have used marijuana, challenging its reputation as a hippy drug. This program interweaves the history of marijuana in Australia with the history of three generations of the Smith family — the 60-year-old father still grows and uses it, thumbing his nose at the law and social convention. ABC Radio National, Saturday, June 4, 3.30pm.
