Public meeting: The struggle against austerity in Greece: an eyewitness report

The global financial crisis has hit hardest in Greece and has led to massive struggles by workers and the poor against the conservative government’s austerity policies. The radical left party SYRIZA has become the most popular political force and is a serious contender for power. This forum will examine the roots of the crisis and the challenges in fighting for socialist solutions to entrenched capitalist economic and political power.
SPEAKER: Afrodity Giannakis is an activist in SYRIZA and the International Workers Left (DEA), and a correspondent for Green Left Weekly.
