Despite the massive use of lethal force by the military in Myanmar/Burma, people are still coming out to protest in cities, towns and villages against the military coup. This is the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Workers also organised a one-day general strike on February 22.

Hundreds of unarmed civilian protesters have been killed by the military.
Meanwhile, the Australian government didn't immediately condemn the coup and maintained its military cooperation with the military in Myanmar until recently.

The military's genocide against the Rohingya in 2017 made it easier for the military to carry out its coup.

Come along to this discussion hosted by Green Left and Socialist Alliance to discuss this on-going struggle and how we can stand in solidarity with the protest movement resisting oppression.
