Gadigal/Sydney

Why

First Fleet Park, Circular Quay
Emergency protest against the bombing and shelling of Kurdish-liberated Rojava (in Northern Syria) and Sinjar (in Iraq). On April 25, 26 air strikes were conducted by the Turkish army into the General Headquarters of the  People's Protection Units (YPG) in Qarachox area in Cezire canton of Rojava. The airstrikes hit the local radio station called Rojava FM, media center, and communication headquarters. Many people, including some YPG and Women's Defense Units (YPJ) fighters were killed and many more injured. There were also simultaneous attacks on Shengal City. Since then the Turkish military has continued shelling of Rojava and its warplanes still fly overhead. YPG and YPJ have called for a No Fly Zone to be imposed over Rojava. This action has been called by the Democratic Kurdish Centre (NSW).
