Protest for our climate future

MELBOURNE — Locals into Victoria's Environment organised a 5000-strong protest against the federal government's climate change policies on May 17.

Protesters formed a human chain on St Kilda Beach spelling "Our climate is in your hands". Later, the "Y" was removed to read "Our climate is in our hands".

Protest organiser Coni Forcey told the May 18 Age the action was meant to highlight the Rudd government's inaction on climate change. "We seem to be setting up more barriers rather than really allowing renewable energy to flourish", she said.
