'For my Friends in Detention' is a short documentary by Zebedee Parkes. The film examines the impact refugee activism in Australia has on people on both sides of the fence, focussing on the relationship of Sarah, a refugee activist, and Cali, a Tamil refugee.

'For my Friends in Detention' draws upon observational footage filmed over several years of the campaign and includes Sarah's first experience of a detention centre as well as Cali's first speech after getting his freedom.

Through portraying a personal story, 'For my Friends in Detention' shows that our actions can and do make a difference.

Screenings followed by Q&A and discussion with the Zebedee Parkes.
