Why

Forests For Climate, Forests For Life!

Forests are a major ally in our efforts to avert a climate catastrophe. They draw down and store huge volumes of carbon from the atmosphere. But right now, logging and clearing are major drivers of climate change. We need to protect them for climate, and for life.

Welcome to our Forests for Climate, Forests for Life campaign. Together we can share the urgent message: forests play a vital role in carbon drawdown and storage, and they face massive risks as the climate warms and dries.

We’ve got an action plan, and this launch party is your chance to join the organised team.

Elder Ben Taylor, will welcome us on Whadjuk Noongar Country, Shona at the Hidden Pantry is cooking up a lip smacking organic vegan menu including snacks and a hearty rendang curry with all the trimmings, Harris Organic Wines have donated preservative free organically produced wines and sparkling and Rai will mesmerise us with her cool and delicious sounds on voice and keys.

We are excited to share the excellent new WAFA website and campaign materials, and to provide opportunities for you to get skilled up and involved in the next steps for forest conservation in WA. Also, catch a sneak peak of the new Documentary “Cry of the Forests” co-produced by WAFA and Jane Hammond at Fremantle Freelance.

We have achieved a great deal together, and there remains much to be done. Come along and join in. Together we can achieve extraordinary things.
