National anti-Bush protests

Issue

Across Australia, people are planning to travel to Canberra to protest against US President George Bush's visit to Australia, likely to be in the few days after October 21. Solidarity protests are also being planned in a number of cities. Planned so far:

Brisbane:

Meet 5pm, King George Square, the day that Bush arrives.

Sydney:

Meet 5pm, Sydney Town Hall, the day that Bush arrives.

Melbourne: Meet 5.30pm, State Library, the day that Bush addresses federal parliament.

Perth: Meet 5pm, Forrest Place, the day that Bush arrives in Australia.

For these protests to be as big and broad as possible, we need as many groups and individuals planning for them as possible. There are many ways to help: organise a group to attend, paint a banner, help with publicity, make puppets and practice street theatre!

For more information, or to book places in buses to the national protest in Canberra, contact your local Resistance Centre as listed on page 2.
