Museworthy: Sleeping Child

Issue

Make the night your body
Dark child of the chest,
how not to clutch
the face to your neck?
Symbol of the war,
the wonder, the ruin,
can this glory
of a thousand black things
be born now
in your one last raid
on the night?
Whisper, day,
to the basket dropped
at the outskirts,
flesh now rests
in this unguarded comfort,
threat that knows
no rest.
