Minson backs down

PERTH — Environment minister Kevin Minson has had to retreat from his attempt to sack three Environmental Protection Authority members.

Norm Halse, John Bailey and Christine Sharp are part-time members of the EPA. On April 23, Minson had claimed that he had crown law advice that the contracts of the three were invalid.

On May 19, both the State Crown Law Office and the Public Service Commission indicated that this was not the case.
