Lismore Socialist Alliance hits the streets for refugee rights

Issue

LISMORE — Chanting "no-one is illegal, free the refugees!" 20 Socialist Alliance members and supporters held a speakout on June 26 to highlight the federal Coalition government's (and ALP opposition's) policy of locking up refugees in remote concentration camps. In the first public action of the Lismore Socialist Alliance branch, activists distributed leaflets and collected petitions, before noisily marching to the offices of National Party MP Ian Causley, known for making openly racist remarks.
