The Light

Issue

There is endless Light above me
That shines for all (who would see)
My Light sustains life's brilliance
Discounting the darkness of concrete
and steel, it gives my soul and
spirit resilience.
When my mortal vision becomes myopic
The light implodes Sacred Wattage
Mere darkness cannot stop it.
Yes, some of my days are
filled with immured wretchedness
Nevertheless, the Light continues
to shine just so I know it's there,
In this terminal den deep within,
amid and betwixt death's lair,
Gratefully, a quiet faith daily
projects warmth and peace
and well I fare.
Measureless rays and beams of purpose reflect:
The depth of my being making me an honored member;
I fear no neglect.
Timeless Illumination, here, there
and everywhere
Basking as I do in its Divine Glory
Even the demagogues of this earthly hell, best beware!
